Captain Luca Camusi
Chef Deanne Nieuwoudt
Hailing from Italy, Luca brings a natural sense of adventure, warm hospitality, and a lifelong connection to the ocean to every charter. His yachting experience spans the Caribbean and Mediterranean, where he has captained luxury sailing catamarans from Bali and Fountaine Pajot.
Holding a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certification, he is also an SSI Divemaster and accomplished freediver. Away from the helm, Luca loves spearfishing, fishing, lobstering, watersports, and capturing life on the water through photography and videography.
Fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish, Luca easily connects with guests from around the world. His adventurous spirit and easygoing personality make him equally at home navigating to a secluded anchorage, leading an afternoon of adventure on the water, or helping create the perfect sunset experience aboard Drift.
Originally from South Africa, Deanne brings a passion for fresh, flavorful cuisine, warm hospitality, and adventure to the Drift crew. Her culinary style focuses on beautifully presented dishes tailored to each guest's tastes, with a special love for preparing fresh fish and seafood.
From vibrant, healthy meals to creative appetizers and memorable dinners, Deanne enjoys bringing people together through food and creating dining experiences that feel both special and relaxed.
Beyond the galley, Deanne loves snorkeling, exploring new destinations, and meeting people from different cultures. Her adventurous spirit and love for the ocean make her a natural fit for life aboard Drift.
Her ultimate dream is to own a beach house in South Africa, where she can host cooking classes and share her passion for food with others.
With her welcoming personality, creativity, and passion for creating memorable experiences, Deanne looks forward to bringing a little extra flavor to every Drift adventure!
